Do You Still Text & Drive? | Cash for Cars Atlanta

According to AOL, one-third of drivers admit to texting and driving in the last 30 days.  That’s a stunning and frightening statistic.  You would think that with all the billboards, horrific news stories and anti driving and texting ads the trend would be going down, but texting and driving seems to be on the rise.

The CDC’s study showed that over 3,000 people were killed in distracted driving related accidents in 2010.  Those numbers are trending upward steadily. We all know we shouldn’t do it, but yet so many drivers still do it even though they know it’s wrong. Is any information that vital that it simply can’t wait until you pull over or reach your destination?… NO IT’S NOT!

There are also other alternatives including:

- Call the person using a hands free device

- Use voice controlled texting

- Always alert others you are currently texting and tell them you will be on the road and unavailable by text for a while

- Turn your phone off when driving so you are not tempted to text

It’s not just about keeping yourself safe either; you are putting your passengers, pedestrians and other drivers in great danger by texting and driving. Stay safe on the road and don’t let anything distract you on the road and never text and drive.
