Airbag Safety

Of course we all know that airbags are there for our safety in a car collision, but they can also harm us as well if we aren’t careful.  Here are a few tips that can help ensure your airbag safety:

1. Always Wear Your Seatbelt.  I know this seems like a no brainer, but there are still people that don’t wear their seatbelt 100% off the time. Even if you are just traveling a few blocks or miles, always put it on before pulling off.  Having your seatbelt on securely and properly can help to prevent you from colliding with your airbag in a crash.

2. Maximize Your Distance From the Steering Wheel.  The further you are from the airbag, the less likely your are for it to harm your face or body during deployment. Don’t mistakenly think you can move back when a crash is taking place. Airbags deploy in less than 1 second.

3. Always Seat Children In the Backseat.  Always have children younger than 13 sit in the back seat. Small children are much more vulnerable to injury, including from injury from an airbag, in a car accident when seated in the front.

Stay safe while you are on the road. Be sure that your airbag protects you and your passengers, rather than hurts you.  If you are considering selling your junk car for cash, call us and we can explain the process to you and give you a free quote.
