Tips for Selling Your Vehicle The Right Way

Not many people actually look forward to the prospect of selling their car. Buying a new car is exciting, but selling your old one can often be a source of stress and concern. Selling your old vehicle doesn't have to be a difficult process or hassle.

Here are 4 tips to help you make selling your car easy:

  1. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF: Know the actual value of your car and be honest with yourself about the condition of your car. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by not being realistic about the condition and worth of your old vehicle.
  2. TAKE CARE OF SMALL REPAIRS: Taking car of a few minor repairs and maintenance issues can help your car be more attractive to potential buyers. It may not be worth it to do major repairs, but try to make your car or truck as appealing as possible.
  3. PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION: Maintenance and warranty records can help add value to your car. A car still in warranty can be much more attractive and valuable to a buyer.
  4. CREATE CURB APPEAL: Make sure at first glance your vehicle looks good! When trying to sell your car it should be clean inside and out. Getting your car detailed would be a nice touch as well. Be sure every inch of your vehicle is clean, including the trunk, under the seats and all closed compartments.
One of the easiest ways to sell your car of course is to call Dollars for Junk Cars. We pay top dollar for all types of used cars, trucks and SUVs. We are happy to give you a free instant cash for cars quote . You can sell your car the same day you contact us. We buy cars all over Metro Atlanta.

Become A More Attentive Driver | Cash for Cars Atlanta

Most everyone knows that distractions are a leading cause of car accidents in the U. S.  Some of us don’t even realize that we are actually driving distracted. So how can you become a more attentive driver? Here a few simple things you can do to keep your focus on the road:

Keep Your Hands On The Wheel: As tempting as it may be to fix your make up, eat a burger or hold your cell phone for a quick conversation, it’s not worth the risk. If a sudden threat arises on the road, you need to be ready to react quickly, so your hands need to stay on the wheel.

Use Handsfree Devices: If you do make a call or send a text while driving, you should always use a handsfree device and  voice command features. That way your eyes can stay on the road the whole time.

Use A Windshield Mount For Any In-Car Devices: Many of us are dependent on our GPS and other devices when we are driving. Be sure they are always placed in a mount on the windshield. Looking down to view a device for even just a second can lead to an accident.

Stay focused and safe on the road.  Try to minimize your distractions and keep driving the top priority.  If you have had an accident in your car, we will buy your damaged or wrecked vehicle. Click here to learn more about our cash for cars services.  Call us for a free quote and same day pick up. We want to buy your car!

Winter Weather Car Tips | Cash for Cars Atlanta

Once Fall passes us by and Winter quickly sets in, we often run into all types of unexpected car trouble. Extreme cold, icy roads and snow can cause all sorts of issues for your car and your driving.  Having a great offense is the best plan. Be prepared and have the right things in your vehicle with you at all times. This includes matches, blankets, water, sand, rock salt, a shovel, ice scraper and WD-40.  Here are a few tips that can help you out in some of the sticky situations that winter weather can cause:
  • If you get stuck in snow or ice you want to have sand and/or rock salt on hand. You can use this to melt the ice underneath your tires or get traction if they are stuck on snow.
  • In the case of a frozen lock, heat your key up in hot water and dry it thoroughly. Also use a blow dryer, if you have a long enough extension cord, to heat the lock and melt the ice. You can help prevent your locks from freezing by oiling them before bed.
  • Drive appropriately for the conditions and leave your house early for work. This is the most important and most common sense tip.  If you are running late, you will be tempted to speed, even in icy conditions or if there is poor visibility.  Don’t let other drivers or time constraints pressure you into going faster than conditions permit.

Winter driving doesn't have to be so scary, frustrating or dangerous if you properly prepare. If you feel your car is just not up for handling another winter and you are buying a new car. Call us and we will buy your old car. We pay fast cash for cars in Atlanta. We offer same day pick up and free quotes.

3 Important Car Leasing Facts | Cash for Cars Atlanta

Many people think of leasing as financially unattractive in comparison to buying a new car. Although leasing is not ideal of everyone in every circumstance, much of what is believed about car leases is false.  Here are 3 important facts you should know about leasing a vehicle that just may change your mind about leasing your next car:

1. You Can Get As Good Of A Deal Leasing A Car As You Can Buying A Car. This is important to know. Many people that you have to work with the stick price on a car when you want to lease it, but that is false. You can negotiate the price of the vehicle that the lease is based on, your interest rate and your monthly payments.

2. You Can Get Tax Savings On Leases.  When you lease a vehicle, normally you will only pay taxes on the monthly payments not on the total cost of the vehicle itself.

3. You Don’t Always Have Fees At The End Of A Lease. Most people automatically assume you will be hit with big fees at the end of your lease. If you take care of the car and stay within the allotted mileage you probably won’t have any fees when you turn your car in. If you know that the allotted mileage is not sufficient for your driving needs, be sure to negotiate a higher allotment BEFORE you lease the car.

Leasing a vehicle definitely has its advantages and is especially advantageous for those who don’t have long commutes or like to trade in cars frequently for the latest model.  If you do decide to lease a new car and need to sell your old one, we can help. We offer cash for cars in any condition with any mileage.  Call us today for a free quote and same day pick up. We buy cars Atlanta!

3 Tips To Improve Your Driving Visibility | Cash For Cars Atlanta

The road is full of dangers and unexpected hazards. Having optimal visibility can help you navigate through all of this while staying safe.  There are so many distractions and details involved in driving, sometimes it can be difficult to stay focused.  Improved visibility can help increase focus and minimize risk. Here are 3 tips to help improve your driving visibility:

1. Use A Navigation System That Is Voice Prompted & Has Voice Navigation
It can really take your focus and attention off the road if you have to constantly look at a map or navigation instructions on your GPS.  Having a navigation system that can be activated simply by speaking helps. You also want one that gives you turn by turn directions by speaking them aloud to you. These features will allow you to keep your eyes where they belong… on the road.

2. Get Rid Of The Dreaded Blind Spot
Repositioning your side mirrors to 15 degrees on both sides can really help you get rid of your blind spot. When adjusting your mirror be sure to have your head in the same position that you would naturally check that mirror in.  You can even purchase equipment that will give your blind spot warnings.

3. Use A Backup Camera
These can be extremely useful in increasing visibility in the rear of your vehicle. This tool is especially useful for high height vehicles, small drivers and drivers with small children and pets.  There are many high quality aftermarket backup cameras on the market that can easily be installed on most any vehicle.

Increasing your driving visibility can greatly decrease your risk of having an accident. Car safety is crucial and should be a driver’s top priority.  When you are ready to buy a new car with all the safety bells and whistles, just call us and we will buy your old car. We buy cars for cash.  We will pay top dollar for used or junk car.  Call us now for a free quote.  Get big money for your junk car today!

Buying a brand new car can be quite an exciting experience, but it can sometimes be overwhelming as well.  There are so many new cars out there and of course there are certain special features that you just “must have”.  Car manufacturers seem to be working harder and smarter to give consumers everything they could possibly want at a price they can still afford.  Blending high end technology, fuel efficiency, speed and affordability aren’t easy, but car makers are sure trying. Tips For Negotiating A Great Deal On Your New Car | Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta

We often view car dealerships and salesmen as the villain, but they are in business providing a valuable service. We just want their compensation to be fair and not absorbent.  Coming into the dealership prepared and confident can help you negotiate the best deal possible for your new car.

Secure Your Own Car Financing Although most dealerships will offer you financing, you may get a much better rate from your own bank or credit union and avoid dealer interest as well.

If They Can’t Meet Your Terms, Leave Sometimes it can be awkward or uncomfortable to walk away from negotiations, but you have to do what is in your best interest. If you feel the terms you are asking for are reasonable, then leave the dealership if they refuse to meet them.

Don’t  Negotiate Monthly Payments, Only Total Asking Price Many car dealerships will lure you in with low monthly payments. You only want to consider how much you will be paying in total for the car, including interest.  If you need to reduce your monthly payment you may just need to save up a bigger down payment.
Get the Most For Your Trade In Completely finish the negotiations on your new car before you even mention that you have a trade in.  You don’t want them to give you minimal discounts on the new car in order for them to marginalize the amount they are paying you for your trade in.

Buying a new car can be stressful, but being prepared can make the process much easier.  When you are ready to sell your old car, call us and get cash for your car today. We offer same day pick and top dollar for your old car. We are Atlanta’s top cash for cars company. Get cash for your junk car today.

GM’s New Airbag Safety Feature

Nothing is more important than safety when it comes to your car. General Motors seems to really be taking that to heart.  GM’s latest advancement in airbag safety focuses on side impact collisions that are on the opposite side of the test dummy (which is usually ignored).  This new airbag has the form of a figure 8, inflates in less than a half a second and is placed in the center of the front passenger area.

The airbag stays inflated several minutes and provides extra protection to prevent the driver from colliding with the center console and/or their passenger.  Even though this safety improvement will not increase GM’s safety star rating, they are doing it anyway.  It’s great to see a car company put safety first.

Learn even more about this new safety feature http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2011/1109_gm_unveils_new_safety_tech/#ixzz20t3akrIi.

In addition choosing a car with great safety features, be sure to do your part as well. Always buckle up, drive 100% sober and never drive while tired.  When you are ready to get rid of your old car, call us and get cash for your car. We can explain the cash for cars process to you and give you a free quote. We buy used and junk cars. Get cash for your junk car today.

Clear Those Cloudy Headlights | Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta

When our cars get older sometimes you may notice that your headlights begin to grow cloudy. Years of UV rays, heat and humidity can really take a toll on plastic. This not only looks unattractive, but impedes the effectiveness of your headlights as well.

Here are a few options for restoring your cloudy headlight lenses:

1. Buy a do it yourself cleansing kit. Ask the store employees at your local Auto Zone (or similar store) if there are any they recommend, and try it. This is a pretty inexpensive way of cleaning your headlight lenses.

2. Stop at your local mechanic and see if it is a service they offer. Many reputable body shops offer this service at a somewhat reasonable price.

3. Replace your headlight lenses. This is the most expensive option and should be your last alternative.

Stay safe while you are on the road. Having clear and bright headlights are both an aesthetic and safety issue. If you are considering selling your old car for cash, call us and we can explain the process to you and give you a free quote. We buy used and junk cars and offer same day pick up. Airbag Safety

Of course we all know that airbags are there for our safety in a car collision, but they can also harm us as well if we aren’t careful.  Here are a few tips that can help ensure your airbag safety:

1. Always Wear Your Seatbelt.  I know this seems like a no brainer, but there are still people that don’t wear their seatbelt 100% off the time. Even if you are just traveling a few blocks or miles, always put it on before pulling off.  Having your seatbelt on securely and properly can help to prevent you from colliding with your airbag in a crash.

2. Maximize Your Distance From the Steering Wheel.  The further you are from the airbag, the less likely your are for it to harm your face or body during deployment. Don’t mistakenly think you can move back when a crash is taking place. Airbags deploy in less than 1 second.

3. Always Seat Children In the Backseat.  Always have children younger than 13 sit in the back seat. Small children are much more vulnerable to injury, including from injury from an airbag, in a car accident when seated in the front.

Stay safe while you are on the road. Be sure that your airbag protects you and your passengers, rather than hurts you.  If you are considering selling your junk car for cash, call us and we can explain the process to you and give you a free quote. We buy used and junk cars. Get cash for your junk car today.

Tips To Stop Getting Parking Tickets | Cash For Junk Cars Atlanta

No one is immune to the “parking police”.  They seem to circle like vultures just waiting for you to slip up.  Parking tickets are huge revenue generators for most cities so they will not be going away anytime soon.  Here’s a few tips to help you avoid getting another parking ticket:

PAY THE PARKING METER AND USE A TIMER. Always pay the meter! Even if that means abandoning your parking spot to get the proper tender to pay and coming back. Don’t ever think that just because you plan on running in and out that you won’t get a ticket in the meantime.  Once you pay the meter, use your cell phone or smart phone to set an alarm to go off 15 minutes before your meter expires so that you know when it’s time to refresh it.

KEEP A SPARE CHANGE STASH IN YOUR CAR. You don’t want to find the perfect parking space and realize that you don’t have any change.  Every time you get change from a store or drive thru, store it in the same place in your car and only use it for parking meters and tolls.

READ THE SIGNS CAREFULLY.  Sometimes parking policies vary by day, time of day or even time of year.  Read all the signage very carefully so that you can be sure that you are only paying when you have to and that you are not in a temporarily restricted area.

Hopefully, these tips can spare you the misery of ever getting another parking ticket. Keep your cash for the important things in life, not parking violations.  When you want even more cash in hand, contact us. We buy used and junk cars. Get cash for your junk car today.

What To Do When Test Driving A Car | Cash for Cars Atlanta

When you are ready to test drive a new car, you have to get beyond the bells and whistles and examine important features of the car to see if it’s a good fit for you.  Here are 3 helpful tips to help you make your test drive count:

1. Come In Prepared.  When  you arrive at the dealership you should already know what cars are available, which ones you are interested in (and why) and what options are must haves for you.

2. Drive multiple vehicles on the same day.  Try to drive as many of the cars that you are interested in back to back. Your likes and dislikes from each car will then be fresh in your mind. Bring a notepad with you and jot down notes after each test drive.

3. Try out all the features.  As the salesman points out this bell and that whistle, don’t just take their word for it. Try them out yourself. Then you can see if they are easy to use, of good quality and important to you as a buyer.

Buying a car is such a major investment. Be sure you choose the perfect car for you and make your test drive worth it. When you are ready to sell your car, call us. We buy old cars and junk cars.  We offer cash for cars in Atlanta.

How To Find A Good Mechanic

It can be hard to find a mechanic who does quality work and is honest.  Here are a few tips for finding a good mechanic you can depend on.

1.  Check For Certifications & Training.  Ask the mechanic specifically what they are certified in and if they participate in ongoing training. For example, are NATEF/ASE Master Certified.

2.  Conduct Online Research. Of course not every online review is reliable, but if you look at a number of them and see a trend it is likely to be highlighting at least some truth.

3. Do A Little Surveillance.  Drive by and stop in. Take a look at how busy they are, if the clients inside seem happy, if it clean and organized and whether they are taking on any commercial clients (which may be a positive indicator of their workmanship).

4. Get Your Old Parts.  Ask the mechanic if they are willing to give you your old parts after the work is complete. If they are at all hesitant, you may want to keep looking.

Since maintenance and repairs are always involved in owning a car, it’s important to find a good mechanic.  When you are ready to sell your car, call us. We buy old cars and junk cars.  We offer cash for cars in Atlanta.

3 Things To Consider When Choosing A Car

1.       Set A Budget. Set a strict budget so that you won’t be swayed by the cars that my have that “wow” factor, but in reality you simply can’t afford. Your budget should not be based on monthly payments, but the total sale price of the car.  Then accept the highest payment you can afford when you finance it to minimize what you will be paying in interest. You may want to research  car prices online before heading out to dealerships so you know what makes and models fall within your budget.

2.       Know the gas mileage on the car.  Sometimes we only think about the cost of the car, but fuel efficiency is very important too. Think about your daily commute, road trips and errands.   These all add up and the better the fuel efficiency the more money you will keep in your wallet.  Add up your average weekly mileage and calculate how much you will spend on gas a week on various models you are interested in.

3.       Put safety at the top of your list.  Check your cars safety rating and weigh that factor heavily.  Not only can a safer car save your life in an accident, but it may also reduce your auto insurance rate.

Choosing a new car is a big decision and usually one we have to live with for years.  Make sure you choose wisely to ensure you are happy with your car and your savings account.  When you are ready to sell your old car, call us. We buy cars!! We will give you cash for you car.

Factors To Consider When Choosing Auto Insurance

There are so many factors to take into consideration when choosing an auto insurance company and proper coverage.  Here are some tips that may help you in your search for the right insurance company and coverage:

- Ask your friends and family for recommendations.  You can get helpful info from people you trust and are happy with their auto insurance. Ask them what they like most and least about the company and see if the "likes" match your specific needs.

- Know your budget before you start searching. You have to be able to afford whatever you choose. You never want your auto insurance to lapse in coverage.

- Understand the coverage they offer. Know the policies ins and outs including deductibles, premiums and discounts you may qualify for.  Be sure that you are taking on extras that you don't really need in your policy.

Financing Tips When Buying A New Car

You have to be prepared when you walk into a dealership to ensure you get the best deal and financing terms possible. Dealerships are in the business of making money, so make sure they make the least amount of money off you as possible.    Here are 4 tips that may help you when financing your new car:

1. Understand dealer interest and feel confident in asking the finance manager how much of the rate your are paying is dealer interest.

2. Know your credit score from all 3 bureaus. Don’t depend on the dealership to tell you your own credit worthiness.  If you have the time, fix any outstanding credit issues before attempting to finance your new car.

3. Be sure you need the extended warranty.  Carefully analyze the details of extended warranties the dealership is offering you. It may not be a valuable purchase depending the price and the coverage of the existing manufacturer’s warranty you may be entitled to.  Dealerships typically make a lot of money off of extended warranties.

4. Don’t finance unnecessary aftermarket add-ons like rustproofing, paint sealants, and alarm systems. Pay cash after the fact to add these features to your car.

After you buy your new car, call us and we will buy your old car.   We offer cash for cars!

Key Components To Monitor On Your Car

With today's hectic workdays, many of us neglect our cars and forget to properly maintain them.  Not checking on your car's key components regularly and failing to conduct regular maintenance can create expensive and dangerous situations in the future.

Here are some keys components on your car that you should inspected regularly:

1. Car Battery: A weak battery can fail at anytime, leaving you stranded on the road.

2. Brakes: Be sure your brakes are functioning properly with full braking capability.

3. Windshield wipers: When rain or snow starts pouring down, having old or worn windshield wipers can lead to very poor visibility which can led to accidents.

4. Fluid levels: Improper fluid levels - including coolant, oil, power steering, transmission, brake fluid and even washer solvent - can adversely affect your vehicle performance and safety.

Your safety is important, so be sure to keep your car in tip top condition.  When you are ready to sell your old car, let us know and we can help. We offer cash for cars!
