Keeping Your Car’s Value High | Get Cash For Your Car In Atlanta

As much as you may love your car, you know you won’t have it forever. When you are ready to sell or replace your vehicle, you want to be sure you get the most money you can when you sell your car or trade it in. Maximizing the resale value of your car is critical and something you have to do on an ongoing basis.  Here are a few tips that may help you keep your car’s value as high as possible…

Proper Car Storage: Where and how you store your car when it is not being driven is a big deal.  Having a dry, climate controlled environment is ideal for your car. Extreme sun or cold can definitely cause damage to your vehicle.

Keep Your Car Clean: Have a regular schedule for car washes, vacuuming and detailing your vehicle.  You also need to avoid having food and beverages in your vehicle as much as possible. Also, don’t be scared to tell your passengers to respect your vehicle and to help keep it clean.

Avoid Excessive Mileage: If you have a long daily commute, consider using an alternative method of transportation a few times a week.  Also, when taking long road trips, rent a vehicle rather than driving your own so you can save your car the wear and tear.

Drive With Care: The reason that people love to buy cars from older drivers is because they are perceived as careful drivers. Braking softly, taking off moderately and keeping up with maintenance will extend the life of your car and help to keep the value high.

Your car is a valuable investment, so treat it that way. A little additional time and effort can go a long way in keeping the resale value of your vehicle high.  When you are ready to sell your old car, call us for a free quote and same day pick up. We buy cars throughout Metro Atlanta and would love to buy your car!

Fatal Car Maintenance No-No’s | Cash For Cars Atlanta 770-873-3676

For many of us our cars are our pride and joy, but they also come with lots of responsibility.  Maintaining your vehicle is key to keeping you safe and saving you costly repairs.  You need to pay attention to your car and any warning signs it may be giving you. You also want to be sure to find a trustworthy, local mechanic.  There are also things you don’t want to do. Here are a few car maintenance “No-No’s” that you will want to avoid…

FAILING TO KEEP UP WITH OIL CHANGES
Oil is your cars life line. Be sure to get oil changes regularly. Keep an eye on the scheduled maintenance sticker in your windshield and attend to any oil light that ever appears on your dashboard promptly.

USING AN UNCERTIFIED OR UNSKILLED MECHANIC
Do your homework when it comes to selecting a mechanic. Check online reviews, ask for referrals from family and friends, and research their education and certifications as well.

CONTINUING TO DRIVE A VEHICLE IN NEED OF REPAIR
“Oh, I will fix it soon, it’s still running.” This is not a good attitude to have when it comes to car repairs. If your car is squealing, shaking, smoking, overheating, or your check engine light is on, don’t ignore it. If you can’t afford to fix your vehicle, arrange alternate transportation until you can.  You can make the damage worse by continuing to drive a car that is in need of repair.

Take care of your car and avoid those pitfalls that can cost you money and aggravation.  If you are ready to replace your car, call us. Dollars for Junk Cars will buy your vehicle in any condition. We offer prompt and friendly cash for cars service. We offer same day car removal. We want to buy your car in Metro Atlanta!

4 Tips To Prolonging The Life Of Your Car | Cash For Cars Atlanta

Cars are such an important and expensive investment.  We want them to last as long as possible. How we drive and care for our cars make all the difference. Here are four tips to help extend the life of your car:

1. Drive Softly & With Care – Braking hard and fast, pulling off in a fury and aggressive turning can be tempting (especially in sports vehicles), but are just brutal for your car.  You are unnecessarily running down your brakes, engine, gas and other important components in your car. If you want your car to last, drive it gently.

2. Don’t Ignore Minor Car Problems - We see the light or hear the funny noise, but feel “it can wait”. Maybe it can, but maybe it can’t!  It’s always best to take your car to a trusted mechanic at the first sign of a problem. That is likely to be the time when the repair will be simple and less costly. The longer you let the problem continue, the more likely it is to become serious and expensive.

3. Understand The Effects Of Weather On Your Car – Don’t treat your car the same all year round.  Based on your geographic area and local climate, you need to make appropriate seasonal changes, including protecting your car from excessive sun and snow, having proper tires for traction, exterior protection from water & salt, as well as the right type of oil for the season.

4. Listen To Your Car  – If you feel vibrations or notice new sounds, your car is trying to tell you something.  Keep notes on the specifics of the problem (time of day, duration, description, etc) and take your car and notes to your mechanic right away.  Your details can help your mechanic more efficiently pinpoint your problem which can save you money and save your car.

Make your car last.  If your car is important to you, treat it that way.  When you are finally ready to sell your old car, you can get much more for it if it is in good physical and running condition.  When you want to sell your old car, call us for a free quote. We offer same day pick and top dollar for your used or junk car. We are Atlanta’s top cash for cars company. Get fast cash for your junk car.

Care For Your Car Battery | Cash For Cars Atlanta

Most of us ignore our car batteries until it dies on us one day.  To try and avoid being stuck with a dead battery and in need of a jump, there are a few things you can do.  There isn’t a set time frame for testing and replacing your car battery, but in general batteries are only good for about 3 to 4 years.

Here are a few car battery pointers that may be helpful to follow:

1.    When you go in for car maintenance, have your mechanic test it using an electronic tester.

2.     Periodically check your car battery yourself. Look for staining or corrosion which may be an indication that your battery may need to be replaced soon.
3.    Keep your own set of jumper cables with you. Just in case your battery does die on you, it’s much easier to get a jump if you have your own cables.

Our car batteries are critical to our mobility.  Take good care of yours and be sure to replace it when necessary.  If you are ready to get a new car, call us and get cash for your old car today. We offer same day pick and top dollar for your old car. We are Atlanta’s top cash for cars company. Get fast cash for your junk car.

Tips For Keeping Your Car Cool In Hot Weather | Cash For Cars Atlanta

There’s nothing worse than stepping out of a nice air conditioned home or office into a steaming hot car.  Here’s a few tips to help keep your car cool and beat that brutal summer sun:

1. Buy multiple sunshades.  At a minimum, cover your front windshield and rear window with a full sunshade.  It may also be a good idea to cover your side windows too. When you park in the sun for long periods of time since the sun may be in a different spot before you leave that parking space.

2. Cover your seats and steering wheel with thick towels.  This will help prevent the sun from baking them while your car is parked.

3. Park smart. Even if you have to walk a little further, park in the shade of buildings or trees whenever possible.

These tips should definitely help you keep your car much cooler during the hot summer.  Once you get in your car to drive off, let your windows all the way down until your A/C fully kicks in.  The air outside will likely be cooler than the air inside the car, even though they both may be hot. Also be sure to have your mechanic check out you’re A/C system prior to the start of summer.

Well, stay cool and enjoy the summer. When you are ready to get a new car, call us and get cash for your old car and same day pick. We offer free quotes and pay top dollar for your old cars and junk cars. We are Atlanta’s top cash for cars company. We buy cars!

Key Components To Monitor On Your Car

With today's hectic workdays, many of us neglect our cars and forget to properly maintain them.  Not checking on your car's key components regularly and failing to conduct regular maintenance can create expensive and dangerous situations in the future.

Here are some keys components on your car that you should inspected regularly:

1. Car Battery: A weak battery can fail at anytime, leaving you stranded on the road.

2. Brakes: Be sure your brakes are functioning properly with full braking capability.

3. Windshield wipers: When rain or snow starts pouring down, having old or worn windshield wipers can lead to very poor visibility which can led to accidents.

4. Fluid levels: Improper fluid levels - including coolant, oil, power steering, transmission, brake fluid and even washer solvent - can adversely affect your vehicle performance and safety.

Your safety is important, so be sure to keep your car in tip top condition.  When you are ready to sell your old car, let us know and we can help. We offer cash for cars!

Car Safety Checklist

When you see warning lights come on in your car, do you ignore them? Well, don't.  By performing routine maintenance and checks, you can keep your car safe.  You can also save yourself money by avoiding more expensive repairs. Here are 4 car safety tips to help keep the average driver safe and your car maintained:

1. Coolant - Coolant maintains your engine's temperature by utilizing the radiator. Be sure to regularly check the fluid levels in your radiator.  Also be sure that is clear and not cloudy or brown.

2. Tires, Spare Tire and Jack - Overinflation and underinflation are crucial when it comes to tires. Both can be dangerous and affect your mileage.  Be sure to check your owner's manual for the recommended tire pressure and fill accordingly.  Also rotate your tires regularly and replace them when they are worn.  Be sure to have a spare and jack in your trunk at all times as well, just in case you catch a flat on the road.

3. Battery - Batteries usually are good for about three and a half years.  Extreme temperatures can also affect a battery's lifespan. Keep your battery and its connecting cables free of corrosion by scrubbing them with a stiff wire brush and a mixture of baking soda and water (always making sure you catch the run-off in a tray or somthing similar). Make sure the battery is disconnected before beginning to clean it. Keep a look out for cracks in the battery shell or odd bulges, which usually indicate that you need a new battery. If you notice any problems with your battery or a few years have passed, be sure to have it replaced.

4. Brakes - When your car  is whining, screeching, grinding and pulling, or you see that red brake light on your dash, don't ignore it.You may need to check your brake fluid level or have your brakes serviced.  Acting fast can help you avoid the need for a full brake system overhaul, which can be quite expensive.

Car safety and maintenance is very important. You can save yourself money, frustration and even injury by caring for your car.

3 Tools Every Car Owner Should Have

Automobiles are a pretty big investment. Over the years, maintaining your vehicle becomes increasingly important. Having the right tools and knowing how to use them can save you unnecessary and expensive trips to the auto repair shop. It's good to have a basic understanding of how your car works and how to make simple repairs.

1. A jack and jack stands:  When working on your vehicle you will often need the car elevated. Basic maintenance like rotating tires can be done at home with the help of a car jack. You will also need a jack in the unfortunate event of a flat tire.

2. Oil Wrench: You can save yourself money by changing your own oil rather than going to the shop.

3. 3/8-inch Socket Set: You will need this when you are under the hood and need to loosen and subsequently tighten a wide variety of bolts. The various extensions allow the auto owner to obtain the best angles for torque and therefore make auto jobs quite easier.

Car maintenance is required for every car. You can save yourself aggravation, time and money by having basic tools for simple repairs at hand.
